Working Principle

  1. Service Cycle – Raw water passes through the resin bed, where calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by sodium ions.
  2. Exhaustion – Over time, the resin becomes saturated with hardness ions.
  3. Regeneration – A sodium chloride (NaCl) brine solution is passed through the resin to restore its exchange capacity.
  4. Rinse & Reuse – The resin is rinsed and made ready for the next service cycle.
